PAROLE DIMENTICATE A MEMORIA

When I was a child, I used to pass by a house with peeling walls. It seemed to be a book readable back to front page after page, supposing the age.
My work reaveals a flights of imagination for memory, stratification, fragments, clues.
I love to explore books because they unveil sense and impose time and dedication.
“Parole dimenticate a memoria” has born in 2014 and took shape in 2015. The intervention of masking out, partial write-off and language stratification is connected to “Sense Out“, in which illegible texts made by a story-telling hand overlay museums’ photographs like an unintelligible pattern between artists and the public of art.

In this artwork, I use an unsolvable and cryptic language, almost hieroglyphic, on a printed page: anti-writing or ancient writing, gestures and signs cover the printed page. A prehistoric language, hard to decode, lays down on a modern text: time, layers, inversions reach anachronism.
I even wonder what is the most intelligible language.

“Parole dimenticate a memoria”, 1922-2015 is made on a book about Carcassonne (FR) published in 1922.
Words usually make fun of something: “carcassonne” sounds like “carcassone” in italian that means a carcass, an empty ribcage, a ruin, a memory from which it starts in order to rebuild a story.
